DMCA & Copyright
Last updated: 7 August 2026
LoreLoom hosts characters, stories, and images created by our users. We respect intellectual property rights and respond to valid copyright complaints. This page explains how to report material you believe infringes your copyright, how to respond if your content was removed by mistake, and what happens to accounts that infringe repeatedly.
1. Reporting infringement
If you own the copyright in a work — or are authorised to act on the owner's behalf — and believe material on LoreLoom infringes it, send us a written notice containing all of the following:
- The work. Identify the copyrighted work you say has been infringed. If you are covering several works in one notice, provide a representative list.
- The material. Identify the material you want removed, with enough detail for us to find it. Include the full LoreLoom URL of the character page, image, or content in question.
- Your contact details. Your full name, mailing address, telephone number, and email address.
- A good-faith statement. A statement that you believe in good faith that the use of the material is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement of accuracy. A statement that the information in your notice is accurate and that, under penalty of perjury, you are the copyright owner or authorised to act on the owner's behalf.
- Your signature. A physical or electronic signature.
These are the elements required by section 512(c)(3) of the United States Copyright Act. A notice missing any of them may not be actionable, and we may ask you to resubmit. Please note that knowingly making a material misrepresentation in a takedown notice can expose you to liability for damages.
2. Where to send your notice
Email your notice to support@loreloom.chat with the subject line DMCA Takedown Notice. This is the same address used for all reports under our Content Policy, and you can also reach it through our Contact page.
We aim to acknowledge valid notices within 5 business days and to act on them promptly.
3. What happens next
When we receive a valid notice, we remove or disable access to the material identified in it. We notify the user who uploaded or created the material, tell them what was removed and why, and pass on a copy of the notice so they can file a counter-notice if they believe the removal was a mistake.
4. Filing a counter-notice
If your content was removed and you believe that was an error — or that you have the right to use the material — you may send a counter-notice to the same address. It must include:
- Your physical or electronic signature.
- Identification of the material that was removed and the location where it appeared before removal.
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification.
- Your name, address, and telephone number, and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court for the district where you live (or, if you are outside the United States, any district in which LoreLoom may be found), and that you will accept service of process from the person who filed the original notice.
If we receive a valid counter-notice, we forward it to the original complainant. Unless they notify us that they have filed a court action seeking to restrain the activity, we may restore the material in 10 to 14 business days.
5. Repeat infringers
We terminate the accounts of users who repeatedly infringe copyright, in appropriate circumstances. This sits alongside the enforcement measures in our Content Policy, which already prohibit content that infringes intellectual property or privacy rights.
6. Trademark and other claims
For trademark complaints, right-of-publicity concerns, or other intellectual property claims that fall outside copyright, write to support@loreloom.chat and describe the right you hold and the material at issue. Include the same contact details and the LoreLoom URL so we can identify it.
