Finding characters, creators, and your account

Half of LoreLoom is the characters you make; the other half is the ones other people made. Here's how to find the good ones, keep up with creators you like, and set up the account details that quietly shape every roleplay.

Browsing the gallery

Discover is the main gallery — every public, safe-for-work character in one place. A few controls help you cut it down to what you're in the mood for:

• Search looks across a character's name, tagline, description, author, and tags all at once, so you can search by a vibe ("detective," "cozy," "space") as easily as by name.
• Trending, Popular, and All change the order. Trending surfaces what's getting the most messages this week, Popular ranks by all-time activity, and All is the full list.
• Genre tags filter by category, and you can pick more than one at a time. Each tag shows a live count so you know how much is behind it before you tap.

Reading a character card

Cards carry small badges that tell you something about how a character was built, at a glance:

• Loremaster — has a deep, detailed backstory loaded into its memory.
• Expressive — comes with a rich set of dialogue examples, so its voice is well-defined.
• Complex Soul — has a substantial personality written for it.
• Multiple openings — offers more than one starting scene to choose from.

These are generated automatically from how much the creator wrote in each area — they're a quick signal of effort and depth, not a rating. The card also shows how many messages a character has handled, which is a decent hint at how well it holds up in a real conversation.

Following creators

When you find someone whose characters you like, you can follow them. Every character has a clickable @author byline that opens the creator's public profile, where you'll find their bio, their other public characters, and their follower and following counts. Follow from there, and you'll have an easy way back to their work. It's the simplest way to keep track of the people making the characters you enjoy.

Your profile

You have a public profile too. It shows your name, avatar, bio, and the public characters you've made — it's what other people see when they tap your byline. Anything you keep private stays off it entirely; only your public characters appear.

Account settings worth knowing

A few settings do more than they look like they do:

Your profile details feed the roleplay

Your name, pronouns, birthday, and bio aren't just for your profile — they're quietly passed to the AI in your chats, so characters can refer to you correctly instead of guessing. If a character keeps getting your pronouns wrong or doesn't seem to know who you are, filling these in usually fixes it.

The mature-content toggle

There's a single switch for showing mature characters, and it's gated behind a one-time age confirmation. If your account isn't confirmed as 18 or older, mature content stays off and there's no way around it. With it off, the whole site stays safe-for-work. Email and password

You can change your email or password from your account settings. Both ask you to confirm your current password first, and an email change sends a short code to your existing address to make sure it's really you. If you're ever locked out, the sign-in screen can send a password-reset link to your email.
